Rhonda and Silas became friends in college, but never pursued a romantic relationship. Many years and relationships later they reconnected and Silas admitted that he had always been interested in Rhonda. By then, Rhonda had a handsome son and Silas made it clear that he wanted to become a family.
They began dating, and Silas took on the role of father figure. Silas and Sonny bonded and formed a true father son relationship. Friends and family couldn't help but notice how happy Rhonda was when she was with Silas or whenever she talked about him. It wasn't long before he popped the question and they decided to tie the knot.
They held their ceremony at Mount Jezreel Baptist Church in Silver Spring, MD. There wasn't a dry eye during the ceremony when Silas made vows to Rhonda and made vows to Sonny. It was apparent that the three has indeed become a family.
After the ceremony, we headed out to National Harbor for some family photos and then on to a reception at their home. Their reception was casual, but elegant and reminded me of a down home family reunion and an old-school house party. Music and drinks were flowing and everyone had a good time celebrating the newly formed family.
Here are few photos of from their family wedding portrait session.
